Studying Medical Emergency prepares students to work in a dynamic and demanding environment of health care. BA studies in the major of Medical Emergency prepares you to work in the life-threatening situations – both in prehospital and in hospital conditions. Students learn how to apply first aid, how to evaluate patient’s condition, how to operate the specialist medical equipment and how to make quick decisions.
Students also familiarize themselves with the operating procedures in case of disasters, mass accidents or natural disasters, they also gain communication skills necessary to establish contact with a patient and medical teams. The program of the studies also develops social skills, such as resistance to stress, empathy, team work or readiness for permanent professional development. This is a profession that really influences the lives of others, which offers dynamic, challenging work and broad perspectives of employment home and abroad. Part-time mode
You meet the lecturer and the group both, online and at the premises of the University. Meetings take place on weekends and selected Friday afternoons.
Full-time mode
Classes are mostly of in-person nature organized on weekdays. Typically they take place 3-4 days a week at the premises of the University and some part of the lectures is delivered on-line.
Hybrid learning
Part of the classes (mainly lectures) are delivered on the MS Teams platform, and majority of labs are based on-site in the lecture rooms.
The schedule includes days that are fully remote, but also days that all classes are held on-site.

The graduate of Medical Emergency is a qualified specialist who is prepared to perform professional medical rescue, both in a prehospital and in a hospital conditions. They have broad medical knowledge, practical skills and social competence allowing them to work efficiently in crisis situations. Their competence can be used in emergency medical teams (emergency service, emergency department) and in a medical transport, rescue services (e.g. fire department, GOPR – Mountain Volunteer Search and Rescue or WOPR – Water Volunteer Search and Rescue), uniform services (police, border guard, army). They can also be active as First Aid instructors or in medical training, specialists in the crisis management. The graduate of Medical Emergency is comprehensively prepared for the job of a paramedic, they can also pursue further studying on a Second-cycle studies. Medical Emergency in AMH is a chance for a personal development and obtaining a specific socially recognized profession.
