When studying this specialty you will acquire the knowledge from specialists in the field of psychodietetics, you will also obtain tools and techniques to develop your abilities to working with patients with eating disorders.
You will get acquainted with theoretical and practical methods of working with children, adolescents, adult and the elderly. You will also learn about current research and methods of work in terms of dietetics and psychology.
You will learn about the foundations of dietetics, anatomy, physiology, diagnostics and training, but also about the methods used in psychology and cognitive and behavioral therapy, psychodynamic and systemic therapy. You will learn the methods of management of ill and healthy patient, and patients with typical and atypical stages of eating disorders. We will show you how to work in case of nutritional neophobia, ARFID or selectivity in patients with spectrum.
You will obtain tools allowing you to support the change of eating habits when working individually with a client, and working with a group. We will show you how to use holistic approach for nutrition and health, how to analyze eating habits, how to eliminate mistakes by changing patient’s approach connected with their bad eating habits.
This specialty is aimed at the people who are interested in psychodietetics, particularly for: dieticians, psychologists and psychotherapists, doctors and nurses, teachers, pedagogues and personal trainers. You don’t need any previous psychological and dietetic education or experience.
Completion of higher education (at least Bachelor’s degree) is required for admission.
Graduates of psychodietetics postgraduate studies are able to work with individual patients and with a group in terms of a change of eating habits, support the motivation and understanding of psychological eating mechanisms. They are prepared to cooperate with therapeutic teams, to perform nutritional education and to support patients in the process of treatment of their eating disorders. Graduates have knowledge and skills to work in dietary clinics, healthcare centers, private practice, foundations and health education.
