In response to growing problem of postural defects in children and adolescents (“crooked society”), the program emphasizes practical preparation to conduct corrective and compensation classes, including corrective-compensation gymnastics. The participants shall obtain the tools to be able to diagnose, planning exercises, conducting kinesitherapy and health education. Postgraduate studies ensure complex knowledge on anatomy and theoretical basis of corrective procedures. Classes are conducted by experienced academics and practitioners who put emphasis on practice, physical activity games, elements of dance and a training of social abilities.
The aim of the studies Corrective gymnastics is to equip participants with up-to-date knowledge and practical skills in terms of prevention and treatment of postural defects in children. The program is based on the modern, holistic approach, which not only does consider physicality of a child but also their emotional and social development. The studies provide an opportunity to improve the skills and to develop a competence which is needed when working with children in education, therapy and physical recreation, with special attention to the characteristics of postural defects and to the evaluation of posture. After graduation of the studies our graduates are prepared for a profession of a teacher in educational institutions.
Completion of higher education (at least Bachelor’s degree) is required for admission.
Our graduate is a specialist prepared to conduct corrective gymnastics in kindergartens, schools, common rooms and therapeutic facilities. They are able to diagnose postural defects, plan and conduct corrective exercises and educate children and their parents on the preventive healthcare and proper posture. Due to obtained skills the graduate is ready to active participation in educational system and childcare.
The certificate the graduate obtains after graduation of postgraduate studies is in accordance with the Regulations of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 12 September 2018 on documents issued in connection with the course or completion of postgraduate studies and specialist training.
