The aim of this specialty is to introduce to the rules of therapy with diet in case of oncological diseases and to the rules of assessment of diet and nutritional status of the patients with cancer.
Nowadays many people are diagnosed with cancer, that is why it is important to open specialties in Dietetics which educate people who can support patients with oncological diseases during their process of treatment. It needs to be remembered that during the oncological treatment many problems may occur, e.g. weakening, nausea, changes in taste and smell which makes food ingestion difficult. Which is why it is crucial to adjust the diet to the individual needs of each patient. Cooperation of doctors and oncological dietitian may facilitate the design of a meal plan which will support the fight against the disease and which will help to preserve strength for further stages of treatment.
Part-time mode
You meet the lecturer and the group both, online and at the premises of the University. Meetings take place on weekends and selected Friday afternoons.
Full-time mode
Classes are mostly of in-person nature organized on weekdays. Typically they take place 3-4 days a week at the premises of the University and some part of the lectures is delivered on-line.
Hybrid learning
Part of the classes (mainly lectures) are delivered on the MS Teams platform, and majority of labs are based on-site in the lecture rooms.
The schedule includes days that are fully remote, but also days that all classes are held on-site.
