The aim of the program:

The aim of this specialty is to deliver knowledge on giving competent advice during preparation of a meal plan. Students gain skills on the choice of proper products in preparation of medical diets, and on designing the nutritional recommendations for healthy and ill people of all ages.

Nowadays nutritional counselling is very important as our diet has impact on our physical health, emotional health and the quality of life. Huge access to highly-processed food, information overload, which often are inconsistent or false and growing number of diet related diseases makes dietician’s help increasingly necessary.

During studies of this specialty our students shall learn to:

  • pass on the knowledge on healthy nutrition and influence of diet on physical and mental health,
  • support the change in eating habits, adjusted to individual need of the patients,
  • develop nutritional competence,
  • adjust dietary recommendations to the age, sex, level of physical activity, physical condition, food preference and lifestyle of the patients.

Teaching mode

Teaching modes: full-time and part-time mode

Part-time mode

You meet the lecturer and the group both, online and at the premises of the University. Meetings take place on weekends and selected Friday afternoons.

Full-time mode

Classes are mostly of in-person nature organized on weekdays. Typically they take place 3-4 days a week at the premises of the University and some part of the lectures is delivered on-line.

How can you study this major?

Hybrid learning

Part of the classes (mainly lectures) are delivered on the MS Teams platform, and majority of labs are based on-site in the lecture rooms.


The schedule includes days that are fully remote, but also days that all classes are held on-site.

Deliver all the necessary documents to the Recruitment Office.

There is also possibility to deliver your documents via post, courier or in person to the Recruitment Office.

Start of the specialty depends on the number of submissions, at least 25 people for each specialty. Chosen selection at the registration does not guarantee opening of the specialty.
